LPC-Associate
Supervision

LPC-Associate supervision is offered by Alfred Crixell, Jr.  He is a Board Approved Supervisor and values the role and responsibility of the LPC-Supervisor as a guide, collaborator, and teacher.

You will be working with your supervisor for a minimum of 18 months, so it’s important that you make sure that the individual you choose is the right fit for you.  We encourage you to interview several potential supervisors and choose the best one for you.

Supervison Fee:  $250/month

The Role of the LPC-Supervisor

  • Qualify as a licensed professional counselor in Texas; and provide this qualification to the supervisee.
  • Provide ongoing and final evaluation of the supervisee’s clinical skills
  • Provide oversight and guidance in diagnosing, treating, and dealing with the supervisee’s clients (as allowed by law and site policies)
  • Conduct supervision with a focus on the raw data from supervisee’s clinical work
  • Conduct supervision as a process distinct from personal therapy or didactic instruction
  • Evaluate supervisee’s role and conceptual understanding in the treatment, process, and utilization of a theoretical base and counseling principles
  • Conduct supervision as a personal endeavor, making a reasonable effort to ensure the supervisee’s competence in practice.
  • Conduct supervision according to the LPC Code of Ethics/Board Rules

The Role of the LPC-Associate

 

  • Appraise the supervisor of the diagnosis and treatment of each client as allowed by law (privacy policies)
  • Provide current data and clinical materials for supervision which are:
  •            Representative of the supervisee’s practice or of the specialty where more guidance and direction are needed; 
  •            Problem-focused and clear as to the methods used;         
  •            Sufficient to formulate the problem;           
  •            Illustrative of the supervisee’s role, the treatment process, and the supervisee’s utilization of a theoretical base and counseling                   principles.
  • Participate in supervision with a goal of increasing competency in clinical practice and keeping with the LPC Board Rules and Code of Ethics
